KingBlade::Death, A Spy Reveals Himself

November 24th, 2006 by Salem

kbchap50.jpgChapter 50 – Selene says, “Knight from!” “Sister,” Salem’s voice speaks up in Selene’s head, “He is here.” “I know that Death is here. I can see the distortion in the corner of the room.” “He is here to take a soul,” thought Salem. “I understand,” thought Selene, “I know we are right. We made the KingBlade and we know how it works. Trust in our ability and knowledge.” “I understand Selene,” said Captain Crellis, causing the twins to look up at him with in shock. “Is he hearing our thoughts?” thought Salem. “I would second guess my move as well if I were in your position,” continued Crellis, “Now just call back your Knight or make a move with another piece, because I know you will not sacrifice one of your pets.” “Knight from Queen’s Bishop four to Queen’s Knight six!” yelled out Selene. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!” yelled out Crellis. Pawn hides his face under his paws as the black square under the real Bishop opens up and swallows him. Bishop gives a “Yap!” as he falls in with nothing more to be heard. A perch rises from the hole and the black square closes again for the white copy of Knight to fly to it and land. If it were not for the clamps holding tight to the feet of the twins, they both would have been falling to their knees in grief over what they had just done. “He made us do this,” came the dark thoughts of Selene. “We have a good reason to kill him now,” thought Salem with the same tone of darkness in her thoughts. Captain Crellis had frozen in shock. He never thought that the twins, being two women, would ever do what he had just seen. He had clearly underestimated them and their feelings on what they are playing for. Crellis tries to pretend that the event had no effect on him, but it was blatantly obvious. The white Knight that just killed the dog named Bishop was looking at him. He was sure of it. It had killed and now it was looking into his soul. He had to get rid of it. He had to make it go away before it took him as well. His voice shook as Captain Crellis ordered, “Queen’s Rook Pawn to Queen’s Knight six!” The small black Pawn opened it’s ThievesBlade’s void and pulled in the murderous white owl.

KingBlade::Blade Masters Reunion

November 23rd, 2006 by Salem

Chapter 51 – King transforms the AresBlade back into its Temple form and the large chessboard floor shifted back to the large flat marble floor with altar. “Oh. I almost forgot,” said Jarody, “There are more of those blonds trying to take the YeagerBlade. Zealot and Christina were outnumbered when I left.” “You left them like that?!” yelled Salem. “Hey! I was summoned!” yelled Jarody, “Not like I had a real choice. I don’t give a fuck about this stupid chess game.” “We better get back to the docks as fast as possible,” said Selene. “Mal is waiting outside in the MobilBlade,” said Emhril. Knight took to the air and became invisible once again as the other Blade Animals scattered to secure the rest of the Temple. The Blade Masters exit the Temple to find Mal on the MobilBlade with Darkwind and Syntax already connected to it. “Selene, Salem!” greeted Mal, “Happy to see you safe and out of danger.” Vivien exits the Temple. “Look out!” yelled Mal, “The spy is after you!” “Vivien is not a spy,” said Selene. “We need to get back to the dock right now,” ordered Salem as they all climbed into the MobilBlade.

KingBlade::Games of War

November 17th, 2006 by Salem

kbchap49.jpgChapter 49 – Selene and Salem were slowly making their way around a very surreal scene. Rook, Pawn and the other Blade Animals had somehow been copied and made into game pieces. Salem tried to run onto the large chessboard floor to grab Pawn, but she was thrown back when a red wall of light pushed her away. “I’ve taken all precautions to ensure a fair and just game!” said a male voice above them. “Who are you and what have you done to the Blade Animals?” yelled Salem. “They are just fine!” replied the voice. Both Salem and Selene looked around but they could not find the source of the voice. It was bouncing off the round walls and high dome ceiling. “What happens to them is completely up to you!” continued the voice, “Agree to play along, or I will be forced to hurt them and you.” At this, all of the single color copies’ eyes turned a dark purple and smiled in a murderous way before turning their heads to look at the originals on the black side or at the twins. “Play along with you? To what end?” asked Selene. “I thought it would be obvious to you,” said the voice, “A friendly game of chess.” “Easy for you to call it a game!” yelled Salem, “From what I see, we are the only ones who have lives to lose.” “You are right,” said the voice, “It does look that way. As soon as you take your place on your side, I will show you what I will put up for you to win other than your lives.” The twins look at each other, and then they take their place behind the side with the Blade Animals and black copies. As soon as they found their spots, parts of the floor they were standing on opened and clamped around their feet. They were trapped, unable to move from their spot.

KingBlade::Return to The Blade Temple

November 12th, 2006 by Salem

kbchap48.jpgChapter 48 – Selene and Salem ride up to the Temple at full speed. Rook and Knight had disappeared from the sky. Darkwind and Syntax run the very familiar cobblestone streets at full speed as the twins held on. Even the horses knew how important it was to get the twins to the temple as fast as possible. They were getting close to the street that heads right to the temple, allowing them to ride at top speed without needing to slow to take a corner. The horses make the last turn and found themselves getting stopped by a large group of people. The monks, teachers and Blade Hopefuls in Training were all gathered near the J.K. Inn. Salem jumped off of Syntax to talk with Tram who was in charge in the twins’ absence. “What happened?” asked Salem. Tram was still trying to catch his breath while the young 7 year old Gabby tried to give him a cup full of water. “The Temple! It was going crazy,” said Tram. “Where are the Blade Animals?” asked Selene still sitting on Darkwind. “They!” Tram took a long breath, “are still inside. I think they were running after an intruder.” Salem looked at Selene. “What did this intruder look like and did they have a Blade?” asked Selene. “I!” gasped Tram, “did not see the intruder myself. Blade Hopeful Eric told me about the intruder,” Tram took another gasp, “He is now missing, but everyone else is here.” At this, Salem jumped back on Syntax. “We will find him,” said Selene. “Get everyone to the dock. The TidusBlade and the YeagerBlade are waiting there.” The large crowd parted to make way for the twins as Tram, still trying to regain his breath, starts to direct the group to the docks. Darkwind and Syntax jumped back into the race to the temple. Everyone in the town of Koror know who the twins are and would normally greet them, however the twins can see the people who live near the temple were busy evacuating with their most cherished possessions.

KingBlade::Fall of a Caretaker

October 28th, 2006 by Salem

kbchap47.jpgChapter 47 – A small rowboat makes it’s way to the shore of a deserted beach. Lady Slambrawn and Dalton, her faithful servant, jumps off the small boat into the water. Nuclear-Chipmunk kept a firm hold on the boat’s bow as the metal hummingbird called the LightningBlade hovers behind him. Lady Slambrawn walked out of the water and on to the beach with Dalton pulling the boat out of the water. “Fate is with us my pet,” said Lady Slambrawn. When Nuclear-Chipmunk was sure that dry land was under him, he jumped off and joined his master on the beach. Dalton reaches into the boat and pulls out a large hourglass. It was getting hard to see the black sand inside the timekeeping device in the fading suns light, but Dalton could tell where the sand was. “The sand is half way now, my Lady,” said Dalton. “Thank you, Dalton,” answered Lady Slambrawn, “Smell the air and take it in deep. Tonight, the Slambrawn family name will join the few in history.” “But why has the Mysterious Master sent us here to this place? We are practically in the middle of nowhere,” said Dalton. “You are wrong. This is the one place I needed to be all along. The Master knew this. I am very fortunate to have met the man. I will do this task for him. Even if he goes back on his word to make me the first Queen of all of Colloquy, he can’t take this away from me or my family. That is, once I do the act,” said Lady Slambrawn, “Now come, Dalton. I plan to be there by the time the sand is one tenth the way.” The small group head up the beach to the mountains nearby.

KingBlade::Dark Skies

October 22nd, 2006 by Salem

kbchap46.jpgChapter 46 – The Blade Masters were boarding the YeagerBlade when their attention finally moved skyward. Ash that was kicked up from the fighting with the Phantom army and the digging were now turning the sky dark to the point of choking the light of the suns. Selene and Dark quickly enter the cockpit of the YeagerBlade to talk with Kasey. The young Master of the YeagerBlade was busy powering up the engines for a quick takeoff. “Can the plane go through that stuff without any problems?” asked Dark. “Plane?” both Selene and Kasey asked. “Sorry, I mean Blade,” Dark corrected herself. “I’ve flown through many clouds before,” said Kasey, “Never had any problems.” Dark looked at the young pilot, “But this is not just a cloud!” Kasey pushed the throttles at full power, launching the YeagerBlade into the sky. Jarody was about to take his seat next to Vivien when he fell forward and over his seat to land on the row of seats behind it. “What?!!” Yelled Jarody, “AGAIN?!” The landing gear folded into the underbelly of the YeagerBlade and the doors closed tight. They were in the thick of the ash cloud. Dust covered the windows and the large battle wing shook. The YeagerBlade found clear skies again and Kasey turned on water jets and wipers to clean the windows. “See,” said Kasey, “No trouble at all.” There was still doubt in the back of Dark’s mind.

The YeagerBlade was high over the Mantyan Expanse headed to the Mantyan Falls so Kasey could get a better idea where to turn to head to Koror where the Temple of the Blades is. A yellow warning light began to flash and a gentle tone sounded. “What is that?” asked Selene. “The engines are starting to heat up past normal levels but it usually does that whenever I have not flown it in a long time,” said Kasey. “How long has it been before we came to you?” asked Dark. “About two years. Just no need for me to go flying around like this when I’m the only teacher in my village,” answered Kasey. “Two years?!” reacted Selene, “Kasey, you never leave your Blade sitting like that for that long. It is best to take your Blade out and fly it on weekends. Blades are like people. They can become out of shape or even lose their ability if you have them just sit like that without using it.” “What about the KingBlade? You and your sister have it sitting in that secret cave somewhere,” said Kasey. “It’s ability is being used constantly, making sure that you are the only one who is able to use your Blade,” said Selene, “We keep it clean where needed.”

kbchap45.jpg Chapter 45 – Selene found her way into the cockpit of the YeagerBlade, “Kasey, we need to get Rook and the GullBlade in.” “I will open the doors on the top,” answered Kasey as she hits some switches and slows the speed of the YeagerBlade. Rook and the GullBlade see the top of the YeagerBlade open up and they both quickly fly into the opening before it starts to outrun them again. The doors close and both Rook and the GullBlade find a place to land in the cargo hold. Selene returns to her seat where Salem and DarkRaptor were sitting. “Something is bothering me,” said Dark. “What is it?” asked Salem. “You said that the large man is a general,” said Dark. “That is right. General Carcass is the general of the Ut army,” said Salem. “Well, then where was his army?” asked Dark. “The Ut Army, or United Trust Army is an army for hire,” said Selene. “What can you tell me about this United Trust Army?” asked Dark. “They are actually all the army’s of the dictators and kings you have overthrown Dark,” said Salem. “They also recruit new members wherever they go,” said Selene. “I thought I recognized the man in the tin outfit. He was Lieutenant Carcass of the Carillon Dictatorship Army. I remember how upset he was when I killed General Coldstone just before killing Carillon,” said Dark as she looked out of the window, ” I see he has moved up in rank.” “They move around from country to country wherever they are summoned to fight, as long as that country is willing to pay for their services,” said Selene. “You think this Powerful Master had hired the Ut army?” asked Salem. “If this Master did, it looks like this not so powerful Master was only able to afford General Carcass alone,” said Selene. “No,” said Dark, “He would have sent his best man to fight if this more mysterious than powerful master could only afford the services of one man. A General’s place is with his men. If he was fighting us alone, I would say that his men are held up somewhere.” “You mean that the Ut army may be guarding this Mysterious Master?” asked Salem. “Or we may be on our way to meet them right now at Mount Obelisk,” said Selene. “Both of those may be true. In any case, we should ready ourselves and be prepared to fight this army,” said Dark.

KingBlade::Kasey The Weird and the YeagerBlade

October 21st, 2006 by Salem

kbchap44.jpgChapter 44 – A woman dressed in a white fluffy bunny costume greeted the Blade Masters and Raptors as they arrived at her home. “Selene, Salem! Long time, no see!” yelled the woman. “Greetings Kasey, we hope we did not arrive at a bad time,” said Selene. “Oh, you’re no trouble at all. This is a great time. I was just wondering what to do today anyway. Come on in!” said Kasey. The Gemini Twin HexBlade Masters begin to enter Kasey’s home. Dark follows them in along with Mage Khet. The other Blade Masters decided to stay outside as they exited the MobilBlade. The home behind Kasey did not look very big at all and would probably be uncomfortably crowded if they all entered it. Detective Lagan had an angry look on her face as she stood next to the MobilBlade. “What is the matter?” asked Christina as she approached the detective. “I’m just angry at Vivien,” answered Lagan. “Why?” asked Christina. “I’m angry because of what she was letting Jarody do to her. His hands were all over her and under her clothing as she sat on his lap,” said Lagan. “Could it be that she loves Jarody?” said Zealot as he jumps down from the MobilBlade. “But does he love her back. He is just using her. I’m sorry but it’s just very upsetting,” said Lagan. “Judge them not,” said David, “I think Jarody is in love with Vivien.” “What makes you think that?” asked Christina. “Well, he was after you to begin with,” said David, “My best guess; he had a taste of you and lost his interest. But Vivien, I think he genuinely loves her.” ColdRaptor approaches the small group and says in her usual monotone voice, “Did you know that all vampires have hearing that is so acute, they can hear the beating of a human heart from half a mile away?” All of them turned to look at Vivien and Jarody who were standing at the edge of the cliff overlooking a sea of fog. Vivien turned to them and gave a smile. “You think she heard what we were talking about?” asked David. “Next stupid question, please,” replied Zealot.

kbchap43.jpg Chapter 43 – The first of the two suns starts to wash the land with light. Vivien, wearing only her skimpy red bra that barely covers her areolas and her red string thong panties, climbs out of her and Jarody’s tent and stretches to let the sun hit every inch of her. Vivien could hear mumbling coming from Selene and Zealot’s tent. It also sounded to Vivien that they were still mating. ‘Jarody and I would still be mating too,’ Vivien thought, ‘had I not drained him of every last drop of blood and male juice.’ The door of the MobilBlade swung open and Emhril tried his best to climb out quietly so as not to wake his sleeping daughter and PurpleRaptor. Mage Khet was also still asleep inside, but Emhril did not care if he was stirred awake. Emhril slowly closed the door shut until the click told him it was closed all the way. Emhril turned and saw Vivien in not much more then what Pawn wears. His pants were beginning to feel very uncomfortable as Vivien slinked over to him. The light of the first sun made her pale body glow and her red air look as if it were made of precious rubies. Vivien’s black lace red string underwear was not hiding much. Vivien knew what she was doing to Emhril. The large lump in his pants was a real giveaway. She got real close to him. Too close in Emhril’s opinion. Vivien gave Emhril a kiss on his left cheek. Vivien turned and quickly went back to her tent to begin to get dressed. Emhril could not get his eyes off her round white ass as it shook while she skipped back to her tent, and then bend over to slip inside. The feeling washed away and all Emhril could feel now was the anger he had at himself for feeling that way about another woman. He could not help but think how upset his wife would be if she knew he was looking at a nearly naked girl and being aroused by her. ‘She’s a vampire,’ Emhril thought to himself, ‘all vampires are supposed to be unbelievably sexy and extremely attractive in order to attract prey.’

KingBlade::This Damaged World

October 21st, 2006 by Salem

kbchap42.jpgChapter 42 – The Blade Masters all board the MobilBlade with Haiku climbing up to take a seat next to Mal. DarkRaptor leans into Selene and whispers, “Have PurpleRaptor take a seat with Haiku.” Selene did not know what to think. It was a very strange feeling being the one in charge with Dark around. “Take a seat next to Haiku, Purple,” said Selene. Mage Khet also took a seat up on the driver’s seat. Under Mage Khet’s breath, he was saying, “Damn you Siegfried,” over and over again. “Now that is a real mixed up looking family,” said Jarody when he saw Mal and Mage Khet with Haiku and Purple sitting between them. Emhril was already inside sitting in his large seat and sleeping. Jarody climbed into the carriage waiting for Vivien to come out of the house. BlueRaptor and Dark had a long goodbye hug and a kiss. “Be very careful sweetie and come back home,” said Blue. Zealot climbs up to the rear facing seat where Christina was sitting. David also entered the MobilBlade with ColdRaptor. Vivien exits the house with new clothes. She was dressed in a blood red shirt that was cut off just under her bust line showing a bare midriff with red fishnet gloves that went up to her elbows, tight blood red leather pants that hung on her hips with a black belt tilted to one side and a small pouch for her RPG. On Vivien’s feet were red stiletto heel boots that start at the knee. “If that does not scream teenage vampire, I don’t know what does,” said Dark. Jarody takes a look at Vivien and falls out of the MobilBlade. Zealot jumps off the back seat to help Jarody up. “That is right, Vivien is 973 years old. That would be a teenager in natural born vampire years,” said Selene.

kbchap41.jpgChapter 41 – The electric light lit streets were quiet. A single cat runs across to a rod iron gate and slips between the bars to hide in the bush on the other side. A dark figure runs as quietly as possible to a street lamp and opens an access panel. Inside, the person turns a switch and the lights on the street fade until they are dark. The sound of horse hooves grows as several carriages start to move through the darkness. One by one, figures jump off the moving carriages. Some figures use keys to enter the gates and fences that line the street. Others run up the ungated walkways to the doors of the many homes. There were nine carriages on the dark streets. Inside one of the homes, a maid in her nightgown runs up to a door in answer to a soft knock. She opens it to find a Lysts Palace City Police Officer on the other side standing in darkness. “Ma’am,” greeted the officer, “by order of the PCPD, you are to make sure no one leaves this residence no matter what happens until told otherwise by an officer of the PCPD. Do you understand?” The woman nodded her head, “Yes.” in response. “Now go and lock all doors and windows,” ordered the officer before turning to run back up the walkway.

KingBlade::Leaving Cragorus

July 25th, 2006 by Salem

kbchap40.jpgChapter 40 – The BoltBlade sits on the BoltBlade track high above the Gaza shipping port, waiting to be loaded back onto the TidusBlade. A single crewmember works the controls of the retractable platform and moves it into position on the port side of the large ship. On the starboard side, a large number of male and female crewmembers have gathered with a wooden plank extended out over the sandy yellow waters. Captain James Koror and Commander Ajax stand on a balcony above the crewmembers. Ajax blows a whistle to gain the attention of the crew. “On every ship, regardless of what country they serve or what waters they sail, they had a tradition all must go through. When one is about to take the rank of Lieutenant Commander, a rank just under Captain, they must spend at least a year as an Ensign before. I had to do this as did my father and his father,” said James, “My son just completed the required year.” John stands at the foot of the wooden plank as a few crewmembers give John a strong pat on the back. “And as tradition dictates, young John Koror must now prove he is ready and worthy of the privileges and responsibilities that await him,” said James, “Commander Ajax, lower the rank!” Ajax pulls out a long pole and extends it out over the wooden plank. Attached to the pole is a long string and tied at the other end is a golden dress epaulet with a Lieutenant Commander rank pin attached to it. “I have always hated this tradition,” said John to himself. “Not to put pressure on you John, but if you fall in the water, we’ll have to try again next month,” said James. The crew starts to make hooting calls. “When you’re ready son!” yelled James. Ensign Luke gave his older brother a quick push out onto the wooden plank, “What’re you waiting for Bro? Grab those bars!” The crew all begins to yell and chant “John!” as he slowly shuffles out on the slowly bending plank. John knew his father wasn’t kidding. He didn’t want another month as an Ensign. Just above him is the epaulet and under him are the ever bending platform and the murky yellowish brown waters of the Gaza River. John took a deep breath and did a short jump to get the plank to act as a springboard before using it to make a larger jump for the epaulet. John reaches up and grabs the dress epaulet. The plank under him splinters and falls into the water. John holds on tight to the thin string that begins to slowly give to his weight. John instinctively uses the string to swing to the TidusBlade deck. The string breaks and John reaches out to the railing. The crew moves forward to get a better look. James and Ajax also try to get a better look but their vision is blocked by the heads of crewmembers. A few crewmembers begin to cheer, then the cheering moves through the crew like a wave. John climbs over the railing and onto the deck. James begins to clap along with the rest of the crew. “Everyone, report to the grand ballroom for the pinning ceremony!” ordered the Captain. The crowd of crewmembers begins to move inside as Ensign Luke and other officers lift John to carry him to the ballroom.

Where’s the TV?” asked Jarody. Alarm bells began to ring and the light fixtures turned red and started to flash. “Don’t tell me the word TV is cause for alarm!” yelled Jarody. RedRaptor ran passed Jarody yelling, “There are intruders in the valley!” We must find them and kill them!” “Where are these intruders?” asked Selene running after Red out the door. “Mother and Christina spotted them,” said Red before transforming into her Velocir mode and took off for the other side of the valley. “They run fast,” said Zealot running up behind Salem and Selene. “Emhril!” called Selene, “You will not be able to keep up! Stay here and guard the house and make sure Haiku and Mage Khet are safe! You stay here and help Emhril, Mal!” “Understood!” answered Mal. Emhril was relieved, he did not want to run after the others only to have to fight.

kbchap38.jpgChapter 38 – RedRaptor finished building a rocket to send a satellite into orbit equipped with sensory equipment for mineral and air pocket detection in Mount Obelisk. Selene watched as robotic arms in a much larger room behind a very thick glass put some finishing touches to the rocket before more arms started to slowly load the folded satellite into the compartment on the top. “How did you build all of this or even get it all down here?” Salem asked Dark. “Terra helped us with almost everything. All we really had to do was construct the mechanical equipment and build the house that is above us,” said Dark as she walked to the enormous AliceBlade. The AliceBlade itself was inside a separate room behind glass. It stood against a wall. The other side of the room was very hard to see. It seemed to go into a long tunnel. “What is at the other end?” asked Salem. “What you see is the AliceBlade at the end of the runway. You see, the AliceBlade opens up high above an Earth city called New York in a country named the United States,” said Dark, “We load a vehicle we named the RaptorWing with what we need to take with us and launch it through the AliceBlade. The RaptorWing takes us to solid ground where we meet Commissioner Levin. Levin tells us why he called us and we take the case from there.”

Suddenly, the lights around them turn red and an alarm begins to sound. “Speaking of the Devil!” said Dark before running over to RedRaptor and Selene at the control panel.

KingBlade::The Return of DarkRaptor

Chapter 37 – “I name you the TerraBlade,” said Selene. The Blade Masters were holding on tight as they sat of top of Terra’s giant Spider Gauntlet. The TerraBlade made sharp turns and even defied gravity as it traveled down the long cave to the main entrance of Terra’s home. Rook and the GullBlade kept up with the fast moving giant spider shaped Blade. “We did not even get a chance to give her a hug goodbye,” said Salem. “We will be able to call on her with the TerraBlade,” said Selene. “It will not be the same,” said Salem. Ahead of them, they could see sunlight shining into the large entrance. They exit the cave and onto an expansive field of grass. Rook and the GullBlade took to the open sky. The TerraBlade came to a stop and lowered it’s main body to let the Blade Masters get off. “That was a fun ride,” said Zealot. David on the other had, was kissing the ground after the ride. Vivien snapped out of her shock and signed, “That was Terra, the Caretaker of Earth and Rock.” “Yes Vivien, we know,” said Selene. Salem stood in front of the TerraBlade. “What are we going to do with this huge Blade?” asked Emhril. “Easy,” said Salem, “Pawn, ThievesBlade’s void!” Pawn opened his void and the TerraBlade slipped into the darkness. The void closed and the TerraBlade was safe inside. “Is there a maximum size to what that thing can take in?” asked Zealot. “Not sure. Everything has gone in so far,” answered Salem. “Come on, we need to find the people who live here,” said Selene. “I think that’s going to be real easy to do,” said Jarody, “Someone is standing over there.”
